About the Civic Type R
The first-ever Honda Civic Type R features a powerful 306 horsepower, 2.0 liter DOHC in-line 4-cylinder engine. This direct injection motor is turbocharged and intercooled. Therefore, the 5-door hatchback, matching the body style of the tenth generation global Honda Civic platform, offers power, with:
- Peak 306 horsepower at 6,500 rpm
- 295 lb.-ft. torque from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm
- A short-throw 6-speed manual transmission
On the inside, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R offers driver-selectable modes for many functions, including steering adjustment, throttle response, and transmission rev-matching. Drivers also have control over the Vehicle Stability Assist system and the Adaptive Damper system.
